Each month the SSWBN Membership Team recognizes a member who exemplifies the qualities of a Networking Nova, a person who embodies the Network’s core values of coaching, contacts and collaboration; someone who is visible at many SSWBN events and who treats others with respect and dignity. In addition, this person utilizes the Network to build his/her business and helps others do the same.
New Member Hilary Troia: At ‘Home’ in the Network
I have been with SSWBN for not quite a year. I began by going to as many meetings as I could so that I could familiarize myself with our members. I enjoy having one-on-one meetings outside of the larger groups to get to know everyone better and to have a better understanding of what they do. If I can’t personally give them business, I probably know someone I can refer them to and often do.
I love our newsletter and look forward to its publication. It contains great educational segments, as well as further information about our members. I’m also looking forward to joining one of our groups so that I can contribute more to the organization.
Our goal at Home Instead Senior Care is to help our seniors and their loved ones stay at home for as long as possible and as comfortably as possible. We also focus on supporting our seniors’ primary caregivers, recognizing how important their needs are, too.
We become a trusted resource to our clients, and they often look to us for other needs outside of our primary expertise, such as insurance and legal questions, aging in place contractors, downsizing assistance, massage therapy and pain management. I find it invaluable that we have so many professionals in our Network available to refer to our clients.
I never have an agenda when I go to a networking meeting. Whomever I end up speaking to or sitting with, I believe I am meant to meet them at that moment. I’ll never forget one breakfast where I had placed my bag at an empty table, left to network and returned to find that everyone at the table was in senior service! What are the chances of that?!
This is an incredible Network of wonderful women and men who are engaged, energetic, and eager to help. As with any organization, you get out of it what you put into it. I have made some great friends and look forward to making many more.
